The Softies Jerk Shad is one of the most popular soft plastics for anglers targeting larger species. Looking almost like a cross between a Slug and a standard Shad, the Jerk Shad features a streamlined baitfish profile, with subtle tail action.

Requiring some rod work from the angler to get the best action out of the lure, the Jerk Shad is effective when skipped along the bottom, or jigged up in a more violent movement. The descending action of the lure looks just like a wounded baitfish, so be ready for strikes on the initial drop, or subsequent drops during pauses in the retrieve.
