Small ribs along the underside of the lure create turbulence as the lure moves through the water. This turbulence forces the tail of the lure to move from side to side, and even up and down. The resultant vibration as the tail ’swims’ through the water attracts nearby fish, who are further drawn to the visual movement of the lure.
